About Peter Deininger, CFA, CAIA
Pete lives at the intersection of steep learning curves and the need to get it right. As the founder and principal of Altivist Consulting, he brings over 25 years expertise as an institutional equity investor and business/team leader, managing portfolios and delivering results for clients. He achieved top tier performance through intensively researching industries, companies, and strategies, married to a rigorous assessment of intrinsic value. Most importantly, these outcomes came from zeroing in on where others, particularly in the consensus, are getting it wrong - and it is this discipline that he applies to your business.
Prior to founding Altivist, Pete spent 16 years with Columbia Threadneedle Investments in both Boston, where he managed an $8B growth equity mutual fund, and Singapore, where he built and ran the company’s Asian business. He's spent his career working for investment management firms, both established and start-up, with a constant emphasis on investing in growth companies, particularly in technology.
Known for his ability to distill information noise into actionable results and make timely decisions in an environment of high accountability, Pete was among the highest-performing and most recognized investment professionals at each of his firms. This ability to deliver the goods while maximizing risk-adjusted outcomes is the crux of what he provides to clients through Altivist.
Pete earned his BA in History from Dartmouth College and his MBA with honors in Finance and Accounting from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business. He lives in Park City, Utah with his family and, when not helping clients or investing, can generally be found in the mountains.
